who loves shopping?

If you like beads, September is a good month for you.

The Avon Lake Bead Warehouse, off Rte. 83 on Pin Oak Parkway (look for the "bead show" signs), will be open 9/14-17. It is open typically one weekend per month. They specialize in semiprecious stones, but also have mother-of-pearl, a nice selection of chunky vintage glass, and odds and ends. Their silver prices are a little high, in my opinion, but they do have some very nice stuff, and they had some pretty copper beads last time I was there, too. (No website.)

Tuesday 9/18 from noon until 4 p.m. is the Rings & Things Wholesale Bead Tour in Willoughby. Visit their website for more info and to register for an admission card: www.rings-things.com. You must have an admission card to get in, and remember to bring your tax ID.

Then, 9/21-23 is the Gem Street USA show at the Cuyahoga County Fairgrounds. See their website for more info and a coupon for $1 off admission: www.gemstreetusa.com.
