PBS donations and Mini Team Meet-up April 8th 6-10pm

Cleveland Handmade is putting together a basket (or two!) to donate to the PBS Auction. If you would like to contribute a handmade piece, please drop off your item at Dovecote in the Screw Factory in Lakewood during Dovecote's open house on Friday, April 8th from 6-10pm and stick around to socialize at our mini team meet-up!

If you can't make the meet-up on April 8th, please mail your contribution as soon as possible to: Kathy Patton, 871 Canterbury Unit J, Westlake, Ohio 44145 with a note detailing the retail value of your donation and a few business cards so we can place them in the basket with your item.

You don't need to donate to the basket to come to the meet-up. Just bring yourself (friends are welcome, too!) and a snack to share if you wish. RSVP/invite on Facebook here (optional.)

Dovecote is located on the 3rd floor in the Screw Factory Studios at Lake Erie Building, 13000 Athens, Lakewood, Ohio 44107. Please use the West Drive to park in the lot behind the building and use the door by the first docks. Signs will be posted to direct you.

Kitchen Party, Saturday March 1st 10-2

the only thing more wonderful than the end of a renovation is, hmm about a million dollars cash? ;)

come celebrate the end of an era at LazyMama's Kitchen-Warming party Saturday, March 1st from 10am-2pm. you are welcome to bring friends and family along if you'd like. Gretchen will provide drinks and snacks, guests may bring other goodies to share, please :)

the party is in Olmsted Falls (about 5 minutes from the Great Northern exit off of 480.) please convo lazymamadesigns to rsvp and receive directions to the lazy-lair.

crochet, knit or just chill with the cleveys! 12/27 1:30pm

"Meet at my house for knit/crochet, 12/27 at 1:30pm(ish).
Bring something to eat-left overs are good!
If you knit or crochet, bring a project and be ready to help new knitters and crocheters.
If you want to learn, bring a size 8 or 9 knitting needle or a size J crochet hook and we'll make sure there's yarn. If you are already ready to do a project, I can help find a knitting pattern online, just let me know. I'm sure the crocheters will help with crochet patterns. If you need my address, convo me.
We can always hit Tommy's for dinner!"

Fire-Cider Clevey Party, Saturday December 8th

The first annual Fire-Cider Clevey Party will be at Smashing's house in beautiful Fairview Park
at 8pm Saturday, December 8th.

There will be a fire, some cider, other refreshments, a story telling contest and a Cookie Swap. (there is also a rumor of Valerie Tyler door prize earrings, YUM!)

Limited accomodations are available for anyone too "tired" to drive home (as long as you don't mind bunking in a play room on a temporary bed) :)

How to participate in the Cookie Swap (not mandatory, but definitely fun!) per LazyMama:

"Bake one batch of your favorite holiday cookie or homemade candy. Bring them to the party, along with a separate container large enough to fit a couple dozen extra cookies. At the party we'll put everyone's treats out, and as we leave, everyone takes a few of each kind of cookie. That way we all have a selection of treats to share with guests (or to eat ourselves) and we only had to bake one batch of cookies."

copper day!!

Everyone knows there are a lot of smart people at Case. To further prove the school's reputation, the Mandel School of Applied Social Sciences has chosen to show the work of Chris Zielski of Copper Leaf Studios :)

The show runs from September 15th through November 15th, 2007.

The Mandel School is located on the corner of Ford and Bellflower, in University Circle,

(across the street from the Peter B. Lewis building, designed by Frank Gehry.)

Chris's work is displayed on the first and second floor of the Mandel School. There may also a group of Cuban Arpilleras on display in the library.

You can see Chris's work Mondays-Thursdays from 8am - 7pm and Fridays 8am - 6pm.
The school will also be open on the following weekends: October 6th & 7th, October 13th & 14th, November 3rd & 4th, and November 10th & 11th.

Let's celebrate Copper day! We'll meet to see her work and have lunch on October 7th, exact time to be announced. Post here if you'd like to go, too :)
