MANLY MART Feb 8, 2014 12-6pm at Mahall's in Lakewood

https://www.facebook.com/events/701117716589570/

From our friends at Crafty Mart:
Manly Mart Valentine’s Show

February 8, 2014 From
noon until 6pm
Mahall’s 20 Lanes
13200 Madison Avenue Lakewood,
Ohio
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Lakewood, OH: What better way to say “Will you be
mine?” than with a new beard accessory, some brewing
supplies, guitar equipment, comics, records, or
something handcrafted
out of leather or cast iron?
Just in time for this Valentine’s Day, Manly Mart will be set up at Mahall’s 20 Lanes in Lakewood
with a plethora of thoughtfully handcrafted wares for that special dude in your life.
After attending and participating in dozens of craft shows with his wife, Mathias Noble King,
founder and organizer of the event, recognized a need for a marketplace geared towards men.
“Ladies are easy to shop for on Valentine’s Day— jewelry, flowers, a candlelit dinner,” says King,
“But a gift that a dude will appreciate takes a little extra effort, and Manly Mart can help make that
a little easier.”
There will be more than just arts and crafts at Manly Mart. All 20 of Mahall’s lanes will be open for
bowling during Manly Mart Eats and libations will be available from the Mahall’s kitchen, and Yelp
will be providing free gift wrapping to make Manly Mart Valentine’s Show a onestopshop.
Manly Mart Valentine’s Show is being put on by the people that bring you Crafty Mart, Akron’s
biannual and long running alternative arts and craft show.
Come pick up some gifts for yourself or a loved one, roll some balls, drink some craft brews and
stick around for live music after the event. For more info, check out the event page on Facebook
and make sure to RSVP https://www.facebook.com/events/701117716589570

POP-UP PARTIES
Every third Thursday, May 16 through August 15, Perk Plaza at Chester Commons will host a chance for downtown workers and residents to unwind with friends and co-workers while enjoying delicious food from food trucks, a beer garden and live entertainment from 5-8pm. There will also be space for up to 4 handmade sellers to promote and sell their work. Set-up for these events will begin at 3:30pm and sellers will need to stay until the end of the events at 8pm. Sellers will need to provide their own tables, chairs, tents/canopies, and any other desired display equipment. The preferred merchandise will be items mostly in the under $35 range. Jewelry, accessories, t-shirts, and other easy-to-carry items sell better at these events. Historically, sales for the handmade sellers have not been strong, but, since there is no fee to participate and the events are relatively short, this can be a great opportunity for the right seller to get their name out there or get their feet wet in the Market pool, so to speak.

If you are interested in being a handmade seller at a Pop-Up Party, please contact Lisa Krieger at the Downtown Cleveland Alliance by emailing her (no calls please) at Lkrieger@dcacleveland.net. Tell her about your work and which date or dates you are available. Dates are May 16, June 20, July 18, and August 15. She will curate the dates partly by who requests space first while also ensuring a variety of work at each event.
